We engage warmly with our senior friends while playing cards, building puzzles, listening to music, reading aloud, working on a crossword together, reminiscing through family photos, arranging video calls, partnering during group activities, baking, helping with the computer, chair exercise and more!  Our intention is to empower, to feel purposeful and joyful!  We serve Invermere and area with elderly home care and and support seniors at Columbia House and Ivy House long term care.

An afternoon at the beach?  YES!  We pack our chairs and set up to people watch, enjoy ice cream trips, stroll together, adventure out on scenic drives, visit with pets and explore local farms and greenhouses.  Lunch or coffee dates downtown, bowling and hot pool visits are encouraged!   Senior friends with mobility challenges are always supported with choices that work for them.

A strong body is critically important as we get older.  If you can't get off the couch you'll get stuck on the toilet!  Our team members understand the value of exercise and will gently encourage our senior friends to move as much as possible.  Every little bit helps.  For those with mobility challenges we are obliged to adapt activities to suit a senior's needs and wishes.  We encourage SAIL Exercises for our elderly home care clients.  

Creating a tasty, nutritious breakfast, lunch or dinner, organizing  meal plans for the week, grocery shopping, delivery and meal preparation are a big part of what we do!  Let a Heartfelt Companion share space in the kitchen and relieve some stress around food so that you may relax and enjoy it.  Nutrition is key in aging well at home.  We support seniors in their food choices and strive to offer healthy food that pleases the palate. The HFCS Team is certified in FOODSAFE Level 1.

A kind and compassionate Companion will happily encourage personal grooming, bathing and dressing.  We stand by during showers, button buttons, slip on socks, help coordinate outfits and empower each unique senior friend to care for themselves.  We understand it can be tricky when it comes to routine bathing. We work at it gently, with a bit of humor, all the while maintaining dignity and respect.  HFCS  can help to arrange a bathing schedule with Interior Health and arrange transportation, too!

Allow a Heartfelt Companion to help keep your home tidy and organized.  We will keep up with laundry, dish washing, bed changes, sweeping, fridge purging, emptying trash and recycling, light snow removal, caring for house plants, pets and more.  A simple, organized space is easier for a senior to navigate and manage, especially in cases of dementia.  If you are interested in a hiring regular house cleaner we have excellent partners in mind.

Have you recently had surgery and could use a hand getting things done at home? Are you uneasy leaving your aging parent alone at night because they have started to wander? Let a Heartfelt Companion relieve some stress with an overnight stay on occasion, or for an extended period. We are here to help you or your loved one age in place at home if possible.

The Heartfelt Companion offers more than a driving service; we offer conversation, errands while you are at your appointment and personal support door to door.
